- Anytime, anywhere access to uploaded files, folders, and backups from any internet
attached computer.
- Easily share files or groups of files (including large files) to multiple recipients
in customizable folders.
- Real, "set it and forget it" off-site protection of your valuable documents/files.
- It’s very affordable (3GB are free) and each offer covers multiple computers.
- The service is easy to use.
What exactly is the Online Backup & Sharing Service?
The Premier Vault service includes two primary services (protection and sharing)
with a single subscription and single log on. The service includes the following
three applications:
Online Backup is software downloaded to your personal
computer. Once installed the software automatically backs up selected files and
folders to your online storage location. Backup files and folders can also be restored.
The backup software can be downloaded to multiple computers. Each computer can have
its own backup parameters.
Online Sharing via web – after logging into your account
subscribers can selectively upload and download files and folders to their private
account from the Online files section. You can send password-protected invitations
containing links to your files and folders for friends, family and business associates.
If you receive an invitation you can view, download, upload, and change files depending
on the permissions granted to you by the person who sent you the invitation. The
Online sharing application allows you to share files, photos, personal videos, music,
and more without the problems associated with email attachments. From the Online
Sharing web site you can access your Online Backups by computer and even do a restore.
The Online Sharing website supports most common web browsers and computers (including
Apple computers) that have access to the internet.
Online Sharing via your desktop with Vault Explorer -
Vault Explorer works with Microsoft operating systems, and must be installed on
your personal computer(s). Once installed, you can right click on a file or folder
to share it instantly. You can also upload, download, and restore files by selecting
the file or folder you’d like and dragging it to your online account from your desktop.
What is the difference between online backup and online sharing?
Think of your online backups as continual process that occurs and something that
you don’t mess with unless you lose or need access to your information. Think of
Online Sharing as a way to quickly and conveniently access and share files and or
folders that you want to access remotely or share with unique groups of people or
individuals.
Which Online Backup & Sharing option should I select?
If you have just one computer, the 3GB offer may be enough to start off with. You
can always upgrade to the next level should you start to reach your capacity limit.
If you have multiple computers you will likely need 30GB option. Upgrade to the
unlimited service if you have multiple computers and you are reaching the 30GB limit
or if just don’t want to worry about capacity limitations. Your capacity reflects
you backups plus your uploaded files for sharing.
What happens after I sign up for the service?
Once you select the Online Backup & Sharing option, you will then create an account,
which will include your user ID and password. When you click on "submit" on the
sign up page, a process will begin to install the Online Backup and Vault Explorer
clients to your computer. You will then see two new icons on your desktop: Online
Backup and Vault Explorer. You will now also have access to the web-based vault
any time you login.

Is Online Backup and Sharing secure?
Security of your information is of primary importance to Premier Vault. We utilize
many levels of security. First, when you sign up, you determine your secret User
Name and Password and secondary identification questions (to allow you to recall
a forgotten password). Our system permits entrance only to authorized User Name
and Password customers. Second we use secure Internet connections with 128 bit advanced
encryption standard to encode and secure every transmission to and from your Vault.
Encryption is a method of taking your data in an electronic form and scrambling
its contents so that if the transmitted information is somehow intercepted it would
be unusable. Third, we strip the "metadata" from your information and store it separately
as well. Metadata is the information you don't see that describes each page of your
information. Using this extraordinary process we make your information even more
secure. Fourth, your information is stored on Premier Vault' servers at a remote,
very secure and heavily protected managed server facility. Premier Vault utilizes
best in class enterprise level hardware, software, and security protection equipment
that resides in an enterprise class data center. The data center is equipped to
offer some of the highest level of protection and services available so as to insure
our customers get continued access. Fifth, Premier Vault uses the SSL (Secure Socket
Layer) certification process to increase your trust and confidence in secured transmission
of data over the Internet.
